 NEW ðŸš¨ CALL TO ACTION:
Rio Verde Foothills Area Plan Updates

ASK Maricopa County to Update the Rio Verde Foothills Area Plan

Why This Matters
Maricopa County uses its Comprehensive Plan and Area Plans to guide zoning, development, and long-term growth decisions.

The Rio Verde Foothills Area Plan, which helps define land use and community character for our area, is outdated and no longer reflects current conditions or challenges—especially regarding water, infrastructure, and growth pressures.

👉 Without an updated plan, future rezoning decisions may not reflect the realities of our community today.

The goal is to get your position logged by email or by phone

Dear Supervisors and Commissioners,

I am a resident of Rio Verde Foothills and am requesting that Maricopa County initiate an update to the Rio Verde Foothills Area Plan.

The current plan is outdated and does not reflect the significant changes and challenges our community faces today, particularly related to water availability, infrastructure capacity, and development pressure.

Area Plans are critical tools used to guide zoning and land use decisions. Without an updated plan, future decisions may not align with current conditions.

I respectfully ask the County to prioritize updating the Rio Verde Foothills Area Plan and ensure it includes policies requiring adequate water supply, infrastructure capacity, and compatibility with the existing rural character.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Dear Supervisors and Commissioners,

I am a resident of Rio Verde Foothills and am writing to request that Maricopa County begin the process of updating the Rio Verde Foothills Area Plan.

Our community has experienced significant changes in recent years, including ongoing water challenges, increased development interest, and strain on infrastructure. The current plan does not reflect these realities.

Because Area Plans guide future zoning and development decisions, it is important that they accurately represent current conditions and community needs.

I respectfully ask the County to prioritize an update to the Rio Verde Foothills Area Plan, with a focus on water security, infrastructure capacity, and preserving the rural character of our community.

Thank you for your time and attention to this important matter.
